OUTDOOR ACTIVITY CENTRE AND CYCLE CENTRE ASSISTANT MANAGER | £15.83 per hour
Reporting to the Outdoor Activity & Cycle Centre Manager, you will be responsible for supporting with the smooth management and safe operation of our Outdoor Activity Centre and Cycle Centre units. You will help lead a large team of approx. 20 colleagues to run a range of exciting activities, including but not exclusively: Archery, Crossbows, Paintballing, Laser Combat, Laser Shooting, Segways and off-road driving activities, Cycle Hire Fleet, Cycle Workshop and a Retail Shop.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assist the Outdoor Activity & Cycle Centre Manager in the achievement of all financial and guest service targets
- Support with the running of the Outdoor Activity and Cycle Centres
- The day-to-day supervision of colleagues and building / equipment maintenance ensuring the smooth running of all facilities and activities
- Develop and review the day-to-day operational procedures adopting best practice and methods of working for all routine tasks ensuring consistent delivery
- To assist in the planning and scheduling of colleague work patterns which reflect business demands and provide relevant holiday cover when required
- You will support with facilitating and developing a culture that promotes and encourages the general wellbeing, motivation, and morale of your team, whilst ensuring effective performance management strategies are in place and your team are actively contributing towards this
Due to the sensitive nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) Check. This disclosure, together with other selection information, will need to be satisfactory to the Company for employment to commence.
HOURS OF WORK
You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period. This role will include alternate weekend working.
As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.
ABOUT YOU
Essential requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to support, develop and lead a team
- High degree of organisational and planning skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Relevant supervisory experience / managing teams and volume activities
- Have a motivational approach to work and team management
- Ability to build relationships at all levels
- Friendly, genuine, and warm towards guests and colleagues
Desirable requirements:
- First Aid at Work certified
- Previous experience of working in the leisure industry
- Experience of working with budgets
