HEALTH AND SAFETY ADVISOR | Up to £50,000 per annum, dependent upon qualifications and experience plus 12% bonus scheme and company car
Hybrid role with office-based, home-working and travel to our villages in the UK and Ireland. Some overnight stays may also be required.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Forest House Health and Safety team as a Health and Safety Advisor.
Reporting to the Health and Safety and Risk Director, you will play a key role in overseeing health and safety standards across allocated divisions of the business. You’ll maintain specific topics within the Health and Safety policy and provide expert advice to ensure compliance and best practice.
What you’ll do:
- Devise and implement Health and Safety strategies for your allocated areas
- Oversee and maintain safety standards throughout the business
- Ensure compliance with UK and Irish legal standards and best practice for guest and colleague safety
- Maintain and update Health and Safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments
- Liaise and influence key stakeholders including Directors, Village Directors, enforcing authorities, and insurers
HOURS OF WORK
You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period (37.5 hours per week). Normal working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. However, dynamic working is available whereby the earliest start time is 7am and the latest finish time is 7pm.
Please note, this role will be hybrid with office-based, home-working and travel to our villages in the UK and Ireland. Some overnight stays may also be required.
ABOUT YOU
Essential requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Full membership of an appropriate professional body, such as CIEH or IOSH, or a demonstrable intention to work towards professional membership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to influence
- Significant experience in Health and Safety, either enforcement or compliance management within a large organisation
Desirable requirements:
- Experience in Pest Control, Forestry and Grounds Maintenance
- Experience and/or qualification in acoustics (ref Noise Induced Hearing Loss) and HAVS management
