Data Protection Executive

We're looking for a Data Protection Executive to play a key role in keeping our data safe, secure and used responsibly across the business.

What you'll be doing
- Be the go-to expert for all data protection queries, supporting colleagues and responding to guest enquiries with confidence and clarity
- Assist with the management of data protection requests end-to-end, including Subject Access Requests and other individual rights requests, ensuring timely and compliant responses
- Provide advice on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and maintaining the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA)
- Collaborate with teams across the business to understand how data is used and identify opportunities to strengthen compliance and best practice
- Support the Data Governance Manager to develop, communicate and embed policies and procedures and maintain privacy notices used across the business
- Maintain key data protection records, including the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA), ensuring accuracy and integrity
- Support supplier due diligence activities, helping ensure third parties meet our data protection standards
- Stay ahead of regulatory change, monitoring developments from bodies such as the ICO and EU Commission and sharing insights with our Data Protection Leads
- Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support compliance and continuous improvement
- Produce meaningful insights, delivering KPI and performance reporting to support assurance and decision-making

Your working hours
You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period (37.5 hours per week). Normal working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. However, dynamic working is available whereby the earliest start time is 7am and the latest finish time is 7pm.
Hybrid role with 2 days office-based and 3 days home-working.
About you
- Educated to A Level or relevant work-based experience in a data privacy/ protection/ governance or compliance field
- Ability to research and distil information to solve data issues and queries
- Ability to work at high standards with attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA), Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUA) and PECR requirements and related guidance
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Proven experience in a data privacy/protection/ governance or compliance role
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal communication skills) with the ability to develop strong relationships with business stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills and be able to work to tight deadlines
- Flexible, able to work under pressure and be adaptable to changing requirements and deadlines
